Atelier, from French, meaning, “A workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer.”
Atelier Hughes describes the activities and structure of my new space. In late 2015, I consolidated my studio, gallery, teaching space and home into one location, in downtown Santa Fe. At the same time, Gretchen Brock joined me as assistant.
Much is happening in front of and behind the scenes–yet it is still me, Tory. And I still am here to share with you everything I know and do with the creative energy flowing through all of us.
Come visit, and until then browse around here. Look and purchase my award-winning, museum-collected jewelry and sculpture, contact me about carrying my work in your gallery or museum, sign up for my newly designed 2016 workshops, commit to your own creative development in sessions and training programs with me, and watch the development of my newest artworks, the Air Sculptures.
About me: I’ve been working in polymer professionally since 1984, and on my own since I was 13. Along the way, I’ve always emphasized content and intention, so other media of all kinds have been part of my materials kit. I developed many techniques now used world-wide by polymer artists, I teach internationally, I have written books, made DVDs, and spoken about the creative process and how polymer can support that.
A note: currently we are doing a major upgrade on this website, so please come back frequently, and be in touch if you are looking for something and can’t find it. Thanks so much!
